Apply To Teach

The BPNA deliver short courses in Paediatric Epilepsy, Neonatal Neurology, Children's Headache and Movement Disorders. Suitably qualified people will generally be invited to apply to teach on BPNA short courses by their Regional Co-ordinator. Please note that you must be post-CCT before applying to teach. Applications are considered by the BPNA Education Quality & Standards Committee, which meets twice a year (normally April and October).

In considering your application the Committee will also take into account the number of teachers already available to teach in your region (please see below).

It is a requirement that teachers at BPNA courses:

  • Are post-CCT.
  • Are members of the British Paediatric Neurology Association (see letter from Prof Cross regarding this).  (Neonatologists and Nurses are not required to become BPNA members).
  • Attended the BPNA annual 1-day Instructor Training Day (even if you have undertaken the General Instructor Course (GIC).  This training is specific to teaching at BPNA courses.   PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A NEW REQUIREMENT FROM JANUARY 2018.
