Postgraduate Training in Paediatric Neurology in Europe
The Education and Training Committee of the European Paediatric Neurology Society proposes a cycle of 6 courses. Each course would be 2 days in duration with examination immediately following
each course. It is planned that there would be 2 such courses per year within a 3 year period of training. For
some topics, it would be appropriate to organise these courses jointly with other organisations (eg the European
Academy of Childhood Disability).
Proposed topics are:
- Epilepsy and paroxysmal disorders.
- Neuromuscular disease, motor and movement disorders.
- Behavioural neurology.
- Acute neurology cerebrovascular disease, surgical neurology.
- Progressive, metabolic and inflammatory disorders.
- Developmental and neonatal disorders; genetic mechanisms.
Further information will become available through the newsletter of the Society, published in the European Journal of
Paediatric Neurology and on the website of the Society www.epns.info.
