What is PET?
Paediatric Epilepsy Training (PET) courses began development in 2004. They aim to support training for any health professional involved in the wide aspects of care for a child or young person with an epilepsy or seizure disorder. PET1, PET2 and PET3 are each designed for different multidisciplinary groups of health professionals.

Where do the courses run?
The courses have been established throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland and most regions have courses planned each year.

Who is involved?
Approximately 36 participants attend each course with a teaching faculty of seven generally comprising Consultant Paediatric Neurologists and Consultant Paediatricians. The courses have been designed, written and managed by the British Paediatric Neurology Association (BPNA).

entertaining as well as helpful.
Excellent courses with

What are the course contents?
The content of each course is designed to meet the specific needs of different health professionals. For some professionals one particular course is all you need; for others a succession of courses will be appropriate. The courses contain a variety of educational formats including lectures, small group workshops, quizzes, role plays, debates, literature reviews and case discussion.

There are many opportunities within the courses to consider ‘grey cases’, share ‘experience in the real world’, and debate ‘the evidence’.
