Conference app essential

The BPNA2018 conference is going paperless!  We will be using a conference app to replace the traditional handbook and abstract supplement.  The app is available to download from the Apple app store and Google Play Store, just search for BPNA or click on the link.

Abstracts continue to be published in Developmental Medicine & Child Neurology and are available online.

There will be a 10-minute introduction at the beginning of the conference (Wednesday at 10.50am) to ensure everyone has the app downloaded and is comfortable using it.

A warm welcome from the Liverpool team:

It is a great pleasure to invite you all to Liverpool for the 45th BPNA Annual Conference 23-25th January 2019.

The conference will be held in the Rum Warehouse; the conference centre for the Titanic hotel situated in Stanley Dock approximately an 8-minute drive from Liverpool Lime Street Station or a 10-minute walk from Sandhills Station on the Northern Line which connects to the main station, Liverpool Lime Street.

The scientific program will be greatly enhanced with "local” keynote speakers, updating us on their fields in which they lead internationally - including amongst others – neurological infection and inflammation, paediatric neurosurgery and epilepsy. In addition, we are delighted to have two international speakers: Dr Vanessa van der Linden from Brazil, talking about congenital zika syndrome and Dr Aileen McGonigal from Marseille, giving an update on neurophysiology in epilepsy surgery. We will balance these talks with a series of personal practice sessions using our local strengths and concentrating on problems the neurologist faces.

The welcome drinks reception will be in West Bay at the Titanic hotel and the social highlight will be the conference dinner and dancing to an Irish Ceilidh in the historic Cunard building on the waterfront at the Pier Head.  This grade II listed building is just a few minutes’ walk from many of the centrally located hotels and 5 minutes’ drive from the Titanic hotel.

We invite you to join us for three days of excellent and practical Paediatric Neurology, and to enjoy the surroundings of the magnificent and exciting city of Liverpool.

Best wishes and very much hope to see you there.

The organising team – Rachel Kneen, Ram Kumar and Nina Swiderska on behalf of the Neurology Department, Alder Hey Children’s hospital.
