2015 Prizes

THE RONNIE MACKEITH PRIZE LECTURE

Nominations for 2015 have now closed

This prize is awarded to those who have made a significant contribution to Paediatric Neurology as judged by published work and who are under the age of 40 years or within 5 years of obtaining CCST.  The prize lecturer gives a 30 minute presentation at the BPNA conference and is awarded £500 plus full registration for the conference plus travel expenses and hotel accommodation.

BEST POSTER PRESENTATION BY A TRAINEE PRIZE

This will be awarded to the trainee presenting the best poster at the BPNA 2015 conference. When you submit your abstract, please remember to tick ‘I am a trainee’. The prize, generously sponsored by Child Brain Research, will be full registration to the BPNA 2016 Sheffield conference.

The BPNA 2014 prize was awarded to Dr Amina Al-Yassin for the poster presentation entitled "Clinical and radiological characteristics of young onset bilateral cerebral arteriopathies".

BEST ORAL PRESENTATION BY A TRAINEE PRIZE

This will be awarded to the trainee presenting the best oral presentation at the BPNA 2015 conference.   The prize, generously sponsored by Mac Keith Press, will be full registration to the BPNA 2016 Sheffield conference.

The BPNA 2014 prize was awarded to Dr Daniel Lumsden for the oral presentation entitled "Outcome following pallidal deep brain stimulation correlates with white matter microstructural integrity: a diffusion tensor imaging study".

SPECIAL COMMENDATION FOR A PRESENTATION GIVEN BY A MEDICAL STUDENT

The BPNA 2014 prize was awarded to Dr James McTaggart for the oral presentation "Gain-of-function mutations in the KATP channel (KCNJ11) impair co-ordinated hand-eye tracking".
