The closing date for the 2009 National Clinical Excellence Awards Round will be Friday 19 December 2008. All fully completed applications, ranked lists from employers, nominating bodies and specialist societies must be received by 5pm on that date. Please see above for links to the application forms and below for further guidance from the DoH regarding which forms should be completed.
The BPNA is a nominating body but we depend on people nominating themselves to us. Council members need to consider either nominating themselves or encourage other people to do so if they are eligible.
If you wish to be considered, email your forms to info@bpna.org.uk by THURSDAY 16 OCTOBER 2008. Please mark the subject of your email 'ACCEA Application'. The BPNA ACCEA committee will be made up of the President, the Immediate Past President, the National Training Advisor, a lay member and two members of Council.
Please see the ACCEA website www.advisorybodies.doh.gov.uk/accea for more information about the awards. The ACCEA also have a helpline to assist with queries. The telephone number is: 020 7972 3956 and will be staffed between 10.00 - 12.00 and 14.00 - 16.00.

Guidance regarding which forms to use, by Maggie Bishop, Specialist Societies Manager, Department of Health:
I remind you that the supplementary forms must be used as follows:
Bronze and Silver applicants may choose to submit one of the supplementary options in Research, Teaching/Training and Management.
Gold applicants may choose to submit up to two.
If a candidate chooses to submit a supplementary option with his or her application, the corresponding domain on the main application form must be left blank.
I have also had numerous enquiries from societies about Platinum awards. To reiterate:
ACCEA does not invite nominations for Platinum awards from specialist societies.
